This article talks about India's prime minister, Manmohan Singh, claims he will not act upon the Mumbai attacks if he has to do it alone. He says that he does not want a war, and that this is a territorial issue and not a war related one. There is proof showing it was Pakistani tarrorists who set up the attacks.
I think this is the best the Singh can do at the moment. With no other countries reacting with drastic reprecutuions, and with Pakistan refusing to act until there is more proof tying the attackers to Pakistine, there is very little for Singh to do. I know i'm usualy very "gun hoe" as it were, but i agree with his desicion not to react with violence. It seems like he is very influential, and can use his words more eficiently then some other leaders. That said, i also think more countries should be intent on helping. Seven Americans were killed, and were cried for two days. After that, however, we stopped caring about the whole event; as a country directly effected by the terrorists of Mumbai, we should do more to help. If America were to help india, and if Pakistan were willing to simply question their men, i would strongly urge force and action as oposed to words. As it is, America stopped caring and Pakistan refuses to so much as question military forces until further proof has been pervided. Taking this into cosideration, i think Singh has done as good a job as he can.
I think one of two things will happen. Either Pakistan gets over their useless pride and questions their men, if only to prove them inocent, or pakistan refuses for so long that the entire ordeal is basicallly forgotten. For Mumbai's sake, i hope it is the first. this has been compaired to 9/11, and we cannot let these terrorists get away unpunished.

In this article, it talks about how an Iraqi bombing kills seven people on Christmas. It killed a few soldiers, and injured over 20 people. Soon after that, another bombing occured 80 miles away from Baghdad. The bombings were a form of rebel against allowing Christmas as a holiday.
In my opinion, these bombings are bad. They won't stop unless they bombers attempt to tolerate others' religions, and understand them. Bombings only kill more people and cause more chaos, and should stop.
I predict that more bombings will continue to occur unless the bombers end their rebellion. bombings won't stop because rebels discourage the fact to tolerate other peoples' beliefs, and as long ats that continues, chaos will continue.

This article talks about the increasing tensions between India and Pakistan. Even though India's Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, has told Pakistan that they do not plan any attacks on Pakistan, they do not believe him. Pakistan has started to set up soldiers on their border line next to India. They have moved their troops in Afganistan and placed them on their border with India and poses a threat to others. Either they feel the need to invade India or they feel threatened by India. Even though a nuclear war is unlikely between these two countries, it is still possible and both countries are in a state of high alert according to experts. If a nuclear war ensues, both countries have the power to destroy each other.
I believe that this is not a good thing for both India and Pakistan. Pakistan feels threatened and wants to protect their country but nothing is really there to threaten them. India also is in a bad position because Pakistan is in a position where they can attack and possibly bomb India. I really hope that the current situation between India and Pakistan is quickly resolved.
I predict that India will also put their troops on that border in order to protect themselves from any future attacks. Also I believe that it is a matter of time when India and Pakistan start a war and possibly use nuclear weapons against each other. If this happen I believe that the United Nations will definately put their foot down and stop the horrible battle. I truly hope that there will never be a war between these two rival countries, but there definately has been a religious and emotional ongoing battle for hundreds of years.

This article is about a rocket fired by Palestinian military man that fell on Israel, striking a house in northern Gaza killing two schoolgirls. The attack came because Israel sent mixed signals to the attackers. Israel and Gaza came in with a truce and total of 106 trucks carried medicine, fuel, cooking, gas, and other goods to Gaza.
I think this is good because countries are coming together and thinking of ways how to join forces. Since a terrible accident has occurred it has helped to let them see that they need each other to protect one another.
I predict this a good cooperation between them and how countries could join and use their forces together. We can see how this world has been cooperating with other different countries that they never did.

Great Job Chris. I agree with you that it is wrong for people to not allow other peoples' religions. Things will only get better when everyone starts accepting each other for who they are and what they believe in. If this does not happen, the bombings will continue and the world will continue to be in turmoil. Good Job!

Great Job Mildrid. I also agree with you that it is great that Israel and Gaza are coming together and forming treaties. This will ensue more peace in this region of the middle east. However the situation between Israel and Palestine is still troubling and issues between these two countries do not seem to resolving at this time. Good Job!

Chris H: I agree as long as the bombers continue Iraq wil not know peace but is anyone really surprised that the bombing took place on Christmas day?
2 Mildrid M: Terrible things happened to the world before and we never opened our eyes wide enough. What makes you think one rocket that killed two school girls will make a difference?

- I also think it is great that Gaza and Israel are forming a treaty. This will ultimately lead to peace between the Israelis and Palestinians.
Comment on Sravya C.
- I agree with you completely. It isn't good for India and Pakistan to create more friction, this could lead to war, and Pakistan does feel threatened by India.

The article explains how Israel is bombing Gaza because the Palestinians kept firing missiles in the Israel territories. Israel has sent 40 air strikes and Palestine has sent 70 rockets in Israel. More than 390 people have been killed and 1900 are wounded. Although the French proposed a humanitarian truce, Israel rejected it.
I think that these countries shouldn't attack each other and they should set aside there religious ideals.
I think this situation will turn out worse because both countries want to do more damage than the other country did to them.

I agree with you that Pakistan should question their men, but pride is still important.

9 muslims were ordered off a U.S domestic flight after a fellow passenger heard them make "suspicious" remarks. 8 of the 9 passengers were U.S citizens, one a lawyer in Florida. After being led off the plane, the group was questioned and later released with an apology from AirTran.
NOT ALL MUSLIMS ARE TERRORISTS!!!!!!!
After this incident, i think that airlines will continue to be skeptical every time a different kind of person goes on an airplane, but hopefully it will get better

your right, it's good to finaly see some people getting along.

you'r right, people should respect other peoples religions. but then, that's an americanized way of thinking. in america religions don't shape the entire government the way they do in other countries.

This article is about bombings. The Sunni and the Shiite tribes men were going to meet each other to resolve the fratricidal violence that tore the country apart. during this "meeting", an eighteen year old boy blew himself up. he ended up killing twenty-three people and 35 people were wounded. the attack provided a jarring reminder of the obstacles to reconciliation.
i think that it was stupid that the boy did that, not just because he kiilled a lot of people but because he destroyed the one chance that these two groups can make peace.
i think that the tribesmen are going to try again but with more precaution.
