AUSTRALIA:
In this article i learned that five youths, JAmes Dingle, Richard Findlay, Adam Taylor, Tyson Jessen, and Allan Walters, set a man and his house on fire, for fun. They lit a watering can containing petrol and threw it into a window at the house, near where the man was standing. the man suffered severe burns and is permanetly disfigured.
The nations involved with this were Australia. Australia has a Federal Parliamentary Democracy.
I think that the nations only way to solve this problem would be to put these minors in jail for what they have done, to this innocent man. They should pay for what they did.
I think they only solution is to put these boys in jail, but also provide a counseling session, to find out what made this horrendous action "fun" for them. I think that by making this action public, and stressing how wrong this action was, it will help eliminate any further actions such as this one.
I predict that the five boiys will go to trial for this case, be accused guily, and go to jail for a very long time.

OOOOKAY
So this article is about global warming in Antarctica. As we know, its shrinking thanks to global warming and whatnot. And yet, there is also a development of sea ice, but mostly due to increased wind patterns. The main ice Shelfs are cracking and melting as they grow smaller.
Antarctca, a polar bear/sea lion eat penguin democracy (haha)just kidding, it has a treaty that people signed that tells them how they can use antarctica and the UK is a constitutional monarchy which means they have a constitution that a monarchy upholds.
The UK scientists are strongly opposed to global warming and are trying to spread the word about how we need to stop. They think that the ice shelfs will continue to crack until they all disappear.
The only real solution we have for this problem is to stop global warming, which would take a global effort, and i seriously doubt that anyone would care enough to do something.
I do not think that people will heed this warning soon enough. I think that people will only take notice when they are affected directly. I wish it wasn't this way but there's not much we can do by ourselves.

After a person smokes a cigarette and throws it out, that’s the end of that. Or is it? The Australian government has found that cigarette butts have been the cause of many of the fires that have occurred in their country. In order to solve this dilemma, the government has passed a law that abides all tobacco makers to use a safer paper and different chemicals so the cigarettes are less likely to commence fires. Although the current deadline for the cigarette makers to change their products is March of 2010, but the government is not too happy with this date. The Consumer Affairs Minister, Chris Brown, said, through his spokes man James Cullen, that they wish to “speed up the implementation”. After the horrible fires that swept through Australia on February 7, the government has become even more strict about their fire laws, due to the tragedy that their citizens had to endure. Hopefully, the tobacco companies will be able to cooperate with the government in creating a “fire-safe” cigarette as soon as possible.
Australia- federal parliamentary democracy/constitutional monarchy- this means that although Australia has small self- governing states, it is run by a national parliament; the monarch of Australia is Queen Elizabeth II and they also have a constitution that was ratified by the people. It is a monarchy because the colonies that became the states of Australia were British.
In order to solve this problem with haste, the Australian government needs to be more forceful. They need to make sure that the tobacco companies know the damage that their products are causing the country. They have to make sure that they know all the statistics of fires that are cause by cigarettes. If the government of Australia is really committed to stopping cigarette-based fires, they must act with force and vigor.
Australia has to be ready to compromise if they wish to solve their problems. The tobacco countries will definitely try to keep things going as the way they are, because if they are forced to make a change, it will cost them extra money. They might try to persuade the government that the problem isn’t much of a problem, and the set due date is fine, but the Australian government must not give up. The best solution, I think, would be to find a time before 2010, like perhaps near the end of 2009. If the government and tobacco companies can cooperate, the citizens’ life will be secure.
I think that this problem will continue, even if this can solve this temporary problem. Even if the material is made safer, it does not mean that the cigarette will definitely not cause a fire. In order to completely solve this problem, there needs to be a safer way to dispose of cigarettes, and to inform people on how to do it properly. But, for the Australians, I hope that fires caused by cigarettes will end as soon as it possibly can be.

2. the only nation involved in this article is Australia. Australia is a federal parlimenatary democracy and a constitutianal monarchy.
3. while Australia's government is not directly involved in this issue, it is occuring in their country. australia needs to understand both sides of the issue and act accordingly.
4. Australia needs to protect the opinions and rights of their citizens.
5. i think that this will eventually go away. we are seeing these issues more and more everyday, they will eventually become less exciting and less of an issue.

1. As of recent, Australia has suffered from thier most deadly wildfires in their history. More than two-hundred people were killed in five towns, and 7,500 people were left homeless. Sunday has been stated as a national holiday to mourn the people who's lives were lost.
2. Australia was the only nation involved, they have a federal parliamentary democracy, which has elections, like the US, but a parliament, like the UK.
3. There isn't much that Australia can do for those who have already dies, but for the future, they may want to consider upping their fire standards and putting in more fire stations.
4. I think that having more easily accessable fire stations or fire hydrants will really solve the problems of easy brush fires.
5. I don't know if the government realizes that there is really a problem, but there is. They probably won't do anything about the problem until they have their next "Most Devastating Wildfire"

This article discussed the effects of the many deadly wildfires in Australia this month. There were 209 people killed and firefighters and rescue teams are continuing to search for more. Thousands of lives were affected by this devastation and scientists predict that even more fires will come because of the ripeness of the nation. Many Australians say that their work has just begun as they mourn, heal, and protect their country.
Australia is solely affected by this disaster and their form of government is a federal parliamentary democracy – central body of rules when citizens choose a person to represent them.
The citizens of Australia must make the choice of whether or not they will leave their homes to be destroyed or stay and perish.
Based on conditions and climate in Australia, I think that the best solution is to leave your home because material things really don’t matter.
In the future there will probably be more fires and more time for those who have lost to mourn.

This article is about a German research station opened in Antarctica. This project cost 40 million euros. This research station is studying climate change. Research is specifically studying sea ice and water levels; due it is an important indicator for global warming.
Nations involved are Antarctica and Germany. Antarctica has the Antarctic Treaty has a form of government. Germany has federal republic as its form of government. A federal republic is a federation of states with a republican form of government. A federation is the central government. The states in a federation also maintain all political sovereignty that they do not yield to the federation.
There is no problem in this article.
There is no problem in this article.

1. This article is about Australia trying to develope more fire-safe cigarettes. The want to create them faster because of the big fires Australia has experienced lately. The Australian government has taken notice because scientists have warned them of the climate changes and how wildfires could become more common in Australia due to hotter summers and longer droughts.
2. Other nations invovled are Canada, United States, and Britain. The United States is a democracy, Canada is capitalism, and Britain is parliamentary monarchy. Democracy is when the power is from the people, capitalism is when the people have economic liberty, and parliamentary monarchy is the monarch doesn't control everything, but controls some.
3. This isn't a problem they have it is just a way for their country to stop continually having to deal with many wildfires. They want a safe way to keep people do what they want to do, but doesn't effect the environment.
4. Since it isn't a problem they can continue trying to invent a safe way to smoke without creating a disaster.
5. I predict this invention their trying to create could work if they do find a way to make it work. This would help many wildfires to decline in Austalia and won't be such an issue to this continent/country.

This article talks about the wildfires in Australia and how it affected the community. More than 200 people have died by the wildfire and authorities are still searching for more.
Australia is only involved and it is a federal republic.
Well the problem is already over, but Australia can now do other activities to prevent other wildfires.
Australia should moderate areas which are dangerous and can easily burn.
I think there will be more problems, but hopefully the Australians can have less deaths in the future.

Australian Wild Fires
In this article, it recalls the horrific wildfires that are uprooting Australia for the worst. This country has never experienced this kind of fire breakout and is in a state of utmost turmoil. Authorities have set up shelters for the innocent civilians and are trying their best to support the families who have lost their homes and possessions. Several people have died and their bodies were found in some of the ashes. Britain has tried to help Australia by sending one of its most royal people, Princess Anne.
Australia and Great Britain/ England are involved with this current issue. Australia is a federal constitutional monarchy under a parliamentary democracy. This means that while there is a king and queen of Australia, there is also a parliament that also considers the citizens view for federal laws and actions. Great Britain is a monarchy but has a parliament. This means that the parliament is the one that passes most of the laws and decrees while the royal family is a symbol of unity and partnership between the people and the royal family.
Australia and the United Kingdom or Britain, must continue creating shelters and buildings for the people who have lost their homes. Fire fighters have informed the public that the wildfires will be lasting for a long time and many homes are currently in fear of being perished and destroyed. The governments of both nations must come together and aide the people who have lost their possessions in order to restore balance in some areas of Australia. These are the only options that these countries have.
I believe that more funding and shelters should be available for these innocent people. There are not many shelters available in this current problem and many more people are expected to lose their belongings. If this happens, the shelters will be overflowed with people and there will not be enough room and supplies will run out quickly. I also believe that the Australian government should create some relief funds for these people so they are able to start up their lives once again. It will take a lot of commitment and cooperation between the Australian government and the people of Australia in order to resolve this matter quickly and productively.
I believe that the Australian government will be quick to help and aide the people who have lost everything to the wildfires. If the economy is good in Australia, then chances are that the government will react almost instantly. However if the economic standards of Australia are not in a good position, it might take months or even years for these people to regain even a fraction of their losses. Overall, this is a horrible incident to occur in Australia. But with the help of Britain, things might be able to return back to normal in a short period of time.

This article is about these people who were on a cruise and they got stranded on Antarctica. A expedition cruise ship got stuck in Antarctica on Tuesday and remains stuck in place today. They tried to get out, but both time failed. The third attempt will be made today when the tide is at its highest. There were 65 passengers on the ship and they all were safe, and they are going to take them back to Argentina.
In this article the only countries involved in this is Antarctica and Argentina. There is no form of government stated in this article.
Well as for Argentina, they are helping to get the passengers form the ship and bring back safe and sound.
This problem is already being solved and there is nothing more to do than to hope this doesn’t happen again.
Nothing will happen in the future about this problem.

Australia:
In this article i learned that two men escaped from Sydney jail, because the prison guards were watching a game of cricket, instead of keeping watch over the prisoners. It is believed that the officers turned off the alarm so that the inmated could mow the lawn, and when the guards were distracted, thats when they made their break.
The nations involved in this crime, were only Australia. there type of government is a Federal Parliamentary Democracy.
The options this nation has, is to better train the guards, so that they will learn to pay attention, and not get distracted, so that accidents like this do not happen again.
I think the best solution would do keep the alams on at all times, and if they are off, there should be guards keeping watch no matter what.
I think that these guard will be reconsidered as prison guards, beacuse they let two convicted men escape from jail, becuase theu were too busy watching a game of cricket.

In the following article it explains how Australian and New Zealand dollars are decreasing to its lowest close. As for Australia’s dollar, it fell after advancing to a one week high on behalf of the speculation of the U.S. government. As for the U.S. they are willing to increase its ownership, weakening the greenback. In Canada they have one of the biggest banks with no data releases. Global developments will continue to dominate antipodean trading. New Zealand’s dollar declined 1.4 percent to 50.78 U.S. cents from 51.52 cents in Asia yesterday. It bought 48 yen from 48.83 yen. Currency has lost 12 percent as tumbling equities prompted investors to sell the two nations’ higher-yielding assets. Unfortunately New Zealand and Australia were compared to by Japan 0.1 percent and as low as zero in the U.S.
2.
Australia-federal parliamentary democracy: based on the liberal democratic tradition, which includes religious tolerance and freedom of speech and association.
New Zealand-parliamentary democracy: New Zealand is a democratic country in which the members of parliament (MPs) are chosen in free and fair elections. Citizens and permanent residents who are aged 18 years and over are required to enroll to vote. Voting is not compulsory, but turnout is high by international standards (although trending lower).
Canada-constitutional monarchy that is also a parliamentary democracy and a federation: A description of the basic form of government (e.g., republic, constitutional monarchy, federal republic, parliamentary democracy, military dictatorship).
Japan-constitutional monarchy with a parliamentary government: A monarchy in which the powers of the ruler are restricted to those granted under the constitution and laws of the nation.
United States-Constitution-based federal republic; strong democratic tradition: Britain's American colonies broke with the mother country in 1776 and were recognized as the new nation of the United States of America following the Treaty of Paris in 1783. During the 19th and 20th centuries, 37 new states were added to the original 13 as the nation expanded across the North American continent and acquired a number of overseas possessions. The two most traumatic experiences in the nation's history were the Civil War (1861-65) and the Great Depression of the 1930s. Buoyed by victories in World Wars I and II and the end of the Cold War in 1991, the US remains the world's most powerful nation state. The economy is marked by steady growth, low unemployment and inflation, and rapid advances in technology.
3.
U.S. government will increase its ownership of Citigroup Inc., weakening the greenback.
Global developments will continue to dominate antipodean trading.
The Australian dollar has fallen 7.3 percent this year and New Zealand’s currency has lost 12 percent as tumbling equities prompted investors to sell the two nations’ higher-yielding assets.
Australia’s central bank and the Reserve Bank of New Zealand will both lower their target rates to 2.75 percent when they meet March 3 and March 12 respectively, according to the median estimates of separate survey of economists by Bloomberg News.
4.
I think by lowering the amount of target rates is the best solution to go with. If there were any others suggested, it would probably be maintaining a steady rate of targets, without having to lower them. Otherwise it is probably better to maintain a steady rate.
5.
I predict that all the issues will be taken care of and solved. I hope that the following countries keep up with their target rate. I also believe by lowering them it will put them right back on track.

Summary:Child protection workers in Western Australia last year removed 54 babies from their mothers before the infants were a month old, and the department removed 84 babies aged under a month in 2007. The infants were removed after concerns about the mothers' ability to care for a child were raised during pregnancy. The Australian reported yesterday that the babies of some first-time parents, with no history of child neglect, had been taken directly from the maternity ward on the grounds that the parents might pose some future risk to their children. During the pregnancy, the workers are to determine whether safety for the child can be achieved. They talk to the mother and other family members early in the pregnancy and even if the minimum risk of the child being neglected is shown, the workers don’t hesitate to protect the babies. Children especially new-born are considered highly vulnerable because of their age and have complete dependence on a parent for survival thus making it easier to take the child away from their parents’ custody. Welfare workers were given the power to remove new first-borns in September 2004. Reasons why the department removes a child includes: where the mother has a psychiatric history; where her behavior will place the infant at risk of significant harm; where a mother has suffered significant medical complications post-birth and is unable to provide care for the baby; and where there is no father known.
2. The only country involved is Australia. Their form of government is a federal parliamentary democracy. The government is based on a popularly elected Parliament with two chambers, the House of Representatives and the Senate, which virtually have equal powers to initiate the passage of laws.
3. Well the problem is based solely on the right the country can take and give to the citizens. It's an obvious fact that new mothers cannot take care of their children to a full potential but that is because they do not know the full potential. I personally think that the choices they have to solve the problem is to either keep doing what they are doing and take the children away from their mothers and increase the number of orphans in Australia or just have an alternative education program where the mother-to-be is taught how to take care of their child. Of course there are still going to be people that dont proerly take care of the child thus in that situation they should step in.
4. solutions that could best resolve the problem are education and therapy. Both can result in the temporary removal of the child from the mother's custody. If the parents are in need of either then it will be provided and beneficial to the child.
5. Well i really don't know. Its something that many people view differently and in Australia this seems to be very popular(for a lack of a better word)custom. If a mother seems unsuitable then she is thus the baby is a risk. I think this belief is wrong but so far their is no right or wrong because in court it can fought either way.

1. Australia is likely to cut the number of skilled immigrants allowed into the country next year because of the global economic situation. About 190,300 immigrants were expected to arrive in Australia over 2009, but these predictions have been slashed because of decline in the economic growth. Some industries have already began cutting jobs.
2. Australia is the main center of this article because of their recent statement to cut the number of immigrants allowed in their country. The most immigrants that migrate to Australia are Asian, so the Asian countries also are involved in this on a second hand, but their government can not get involoved due to Australia’s sovernty. Australia has a federal parliamentary democracy, while most Asian countries are either communist or have a constitutional monarchy with a parliamentary government.
3. This is not a problem for Australia because they are doing this in hopes that it will improve their economy, but it could cause problems for the Asian countries with the many immigrants the usually migrate to Australia. Multiple Asian countries are already overpopulated, so without the emigration, they will posses more economic challenges than they already have during these times of economic struggle. Even though could be a problem for Asian countries, they cannot forcibly change anything due to Australia’s sovernty, but they can try to influence them and send negotiators to try to work out a compromise of some sort.
4. In my opinion, this is not a problem. Australia is smart to lower their immigration amounts. This could greatly improve their economy and therefore is a necessary instatement.
5. I believe that Australia’s cutting of their number of immigrants allowed will improve their economy, like I have already stated. Asian countries will suffer because of the excess amounts of people not emigrating to Australia, but they will have no power to do anything about it.

Australia's national government took a moment to recognize and remember the 209 people lost during the firestorm that swept through the state of Victoria a few weeks ago. Officials have stated that it "is a great test of our nation's patience and dignity". Thousands of people are homeless due to these devastating fires that tore through the area.
The nations involved in this current event is solely Australia. The form of government Australia uses is a federal parliamentary democracy. To solve this problem, the national government could offer some monetary aid to those who have lost their homes during this firestorm. I think that offering aid to those who lost their homes is the best solution to this problem. My prediction is that the government might give some aid, but not in the form of money, just logistical help.

Fires have devastated southern Australia. Fires are expected to flare later this week when high winds and hot temperatures are expected. The death toll from the blazes has been raised to 210. Four major fires are burning in the region. The fire season will continue. There were 2,029 homes that had been destroyed and $510 million dollars lost. About 7,500 people were left without a home, and towns are destroyed. Arsons are being charged and investigated.
2. Only Australia is involved in this right now. The government they posess is a [federal parliamentary] democracy. A democracy is a type of government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised by them directly or indirectly through a system of periodical elections. This means that the people do have a big influence over their country, and the country will pretty much be run how they want it to be.
Australia needs to do whatever it can not to fuel the fire. This means to put out current fires, as well as to avoid new ones. Only Australia would know how to do this because they are familiar with the land and weather.
I think they should keep strict control over the existing fires. They should keep close watch over burn areas, so that if a fire does start, they can put it out right away.
I predict that in a couple weeks, the fires will be out and things will, for the most part, be under control. However, the damage will remain.

Steig of the University of Washington, said that warming is taking place on all seven continents due to greenhousde gasses. Steig and some colleagues found out that temperatures for the entire continent rose an average of 0.2 degree Fahrenheit pre decade during the last fifty years. the average for West Antartica is 0.3 degree per decade. East Antartica has an average of 4000 feet elevation higher than the west. it has also warmed over the half-century but has also experienced a cooling trend in recent decades.

Summary: This article is about Global warming in Antarctica. It states that Antarctica isn’t warming at the same speed as everywhere else but its warming. Scientists believe that also Eastern and Western are warming. An author by the name of Eric Steig was the lead author of a paper published in January in the science journal “Nature” which documented Antarctica’s warming. Some other authors stated that some of the causes were human related like industrial factories and too much carbon dioxide. They also believe that we can stop this and help our world.
Nations: Antarctica, Republic
Choice/Options: We should try to prevent this because we want our children to live on this earth without the fear of this global crisis.
Solutions: Try to help the earth to stop global warming.
Prediction: I believe that now people believe the causes of Global warming will slow down the causes so in time we can prevent them.

um ok... so the only thing i could find was about australia and the current trade and economic statistics. even thought i thought this was lame, this article says that their two way trades are worth almost as much as five hundred and sixty billion by the end of the 2008. this is obvious that this is a vital component of australia's economic prosperity. also, australia has traded with over one hundred and seventy countries and region so they are some what social to the other dudes.
i think that australia is a powerful and some what wealthy. i think this because brent says so. -_- jk. but i think this because im just assuming.
i think that in the future, that australia wil;l become more wealthy and then gain more money and will be able to someday rule the world. but... if this somehow fall in an economic crisis, thay'll be facing with the conflict that the america has to deal with and many people will start to be laid off and it'll be like a great depression. ok im done

This article deals with the melting of Antarctica. The west is melting faster than the east, but if the east melts, it will have a more serious effect because it has more ice so the sea levels will rise higher, thus changing our temperatures more greatly. The country involved with this is Norway. Norway is a constituitional monarchy. This means that they are ruled by a leader but also have a certain constituition.Really the only option Norway has is to get other nations involved in helping to stop the continent from melting. They can't do it all on their own. I think Norway should address this issue in the UN. I predict that soemthing drastic will have to take place in order to stop the melting.

the article i read was about a crisis in Austrialia, and their economic crisis is very similar to ours. the economy has resulted in the sacking of over 2000 jobs/occupations/emploment/proffesions due to it. another thing that was bad was that some bankers had a say in their pay, and they incresed their wage to 170 percent. that made the remuneration down in debt that more than doubles from 2008. it went from $7 dollars to $15.5 million. it may nearly be close to america's problems, but it seems that others are following our examples. i beleive that if this continues, bad stuff can happen to people's jobs, homes, and social and economic status will be corrupted or destroied. i beleive that if people begin to invest in the stock markets, like they did in the past, then the stocks will rise. and sinse the stocks are controlled by the people, without people, there is no stock market.

Australia is a federal parliamentary democracy form of government. Doctors like Dr McAnulty have said that the pools have been infected by the actual swimmers. The disease that it caused has no cure for weeks or even months and all that time you are usually diarrhea, stomach cramps, fever, nausea and vomiting.
In this case the government can put more money into research so the doctors can get informed on a way to stop this. Also they can also put more money on the pool’s maintenance to prevent this issue or just to find out were this disease really came from.

1. Pauline Hanson, an australian politician, has announced that she will campaign for a seat in state parliment. This announcement caused controversy because previously Hanson sparked outrage with a campaign against Asian immigration.
2. Australia is a constitutional monarchy which means that the ruler is limited by constitution. limitations are those such as the need to consult a representative body or religious authoritites.
3. i believe that in order to successfully choose whether or not this nation wants a racist woman making decisions affecting the future of their nation, they need to consider the past and try to foresse the future. they need to look at the bigger picture rather that just now.
4. I think that this nation should not vote this lady into parliament because the more power she has the more changes she can make, most of which that are not going to favorable to most. this lady is racistly opiniated and to have someone of this sort in power is just asking for disaster.
5. I believe that the Australiabs are smart people and they will think before they vote this racist lady into the higher power.

On February 12, four children were killed during a fight between Australian special operations troops and Taliban guerrillas in south central Afghanistan. It is said that one main cause for these casualties is the complaints civilians make on the casualties. Another adding factor to this problem is a growing number of American troops being sent to the provinces of the Middle East to combat against the Taliban. This poses a problem for the Australian military troops because if American troops are sent, then the number of attacks will go up on them. Any attacks in these cities can lead to serious fatalities and Australian troops are in a rut between attack or fall back.
Nations that were involved in the problem were the Australian troops placed in the Middle East and the Taliban rebels. Along with these tow groups the American forces had a part in the argument as well.
I was always taught to accept the truth and frankly, there is not much this nation can do at this time with the mentality people have today. As long as there is a rebel force, there will be a counter force to try to stop it. Many of these deaths are due to involvements or in the presence of crossfire. The fatality rate will not drop until there is no rebel group that military forces are trying to stop.
A solution in the Middle East has always been feint. The Australian forces have tried to what they can but it is no use if the problem is not showing any progress. Australia best choice is to leave the problem to the two main combatants.
I feel that were there is war there will be deaths. Casualties are inevitable. It is a sad thing some people have to be sacrificed to bring down rebellion leaders. There is hope though. New weapons are being developed to minimize the number of casualties.

Australia's economy has just recently posted their first period of negative growth in eight years. There has been low expectations for the country of Australia, due to the world wide failure of the economy. Normally, each year for Australia, there is a .5 percent growth; in 2008, the economy grew 0.3, signaling a slipping.
Form of Government: Their country has a federal parliamentary democracy. This means that Parliament has complete power over the nation.
Choice/Options: I think Australia needs to be focusing on promoting on tourism, and electronics. Once you have a descent percentage of people who tour the country, like Sydney or beaches, then they will gradually profit from them. And if you can convince shops in Australia to lower the cost on merchendise, than the stores and government will both benefit from them.
Solution: My solution is what I typed above this.
Predictions: I think that Australia is a respectable country who just needs help from other nations. Once they get help, they can make trade agreements. After that, they would have to tax a bit more than they usually would do.

the article is about a warning to austraila about brushfires.
the nation involved in this problem is Austraila. they are parliament government.
Brushfires occur when its dry and hot like in California. we can prevent it by not using heat near large tree areas and putting out fires with water.
the austrailian outback needs to be careful and put out the fire if it happens.
some brushfires always happen but most can be prevtned.

This article talks about the oil spill that is causing a lot of damage to the waters and marine life. It was first believed that 30 tons of oil were lost, but now it is believed to be more. Australian Anna Bligh says that an investigation will take place in order to see if any evidence can conclude that the government could have done a better job. While on their way to Indonesia, the 30 oil containers spread across 60 kilometers affecting the marine life. The owner can be fined up to one million dollars for environmental breaches. I believe the best solution is to get as many supporters and volunteers as possible to help clean the water foot by foot. Also, funding should go in to forming organizations for these types of problems.

These articles were about a devastating wildfire that swept across Australia. The main reason that this fire was so devastating was because at the same time the wildfires were going on, there was also a 60 mile per hour wind blowing. The ending effect was disastrous. At first, it was thought that there was a total body count of 220 dead, but recent discoveries have proven only 174 dead. Some of the remains were parts of other people and some people thought to be missing were found again.
2. The government that was involved in this was Australia and the form of government there is both a federal parliamentary democracy and constitutional monarchy. This means that Australia has both small self- governing states, it is also run by Queen Elizabeth II.
3. I think that the choices Australia has to solve the problem at hand with is starting more controlled bursts of fires to burn much of Australia's dried up debris and therefore there would be a less chance of wild-fires at this scale to happen so frequently.
4. My solution is using controlled bursts of flames to burn the dried up plants and undergrowth. This can then decrease the chances of wild-fires because there would no longer be so much stuff on the ground that would burn so easily.
5. Wiled-fires are a natural disaster and therefore cannot be controlled by us. Though we can decrease the likely-hood of these occurring, There will never be a complete end to the problem at hand.

In this article, it explains the conflicts arising about ice melting. Many people are now just becoming aware of the possible effect of waters rising. Before, when people first heard that the ice caps were melting, it didnt seem to be that big of a deal. However, more and more people are finally understanding what exactly could happen to our land and people. In Antarctica, it has been proved that if our ice shelf were to melt, then it will cause a 20 foot rise in sea levels. Al Gore has been trying to discuss to the people about global warming and the possible effects it could have on our society. He has said that if our sea levels rise significantly, then many miles of land will be covered causing even more conflicts. If more land is being covered up, then the many deaths may be caused and money may become a major issue. With the already high amount of people in our world and not enough room, raising the sea levels would make it 20 times worse.
2. There is almost no type of government in Antarctica. Since the population is not very big, there are no political parties, parliament, elections, congress, etc. In this current event, it describes how every nation could be at risk/harm if the levels of our waters increase.
3 and 4. I believe that the nations to to make it an international priority to help stop this. The people need to be educated on not necessarily too much on WHAT is happening as much as WHAT is causing it. Once the people understand that we are partially causing this ourselves and what it effects, then i believe people will become more involved. I dont believe that the nations have tried too hard on educating adolescents as much as they should if this conflict seems to be highly looked upon.
5. For the future, I believe we should take high note on what we are doing and what we have done to further help our world. So, if we ever needed to look back on what worked well, or what didnt, then we would be able to tell very quickly and accurately what could happen or has happened.

This article discusses the conflicts between Australia and China. The necessities that China needs have been traded with Australia. Australia has started to become upset with the one way street of China receiving more goods than Australia. So, Australia would like to start trading with China for money in return for their goods. The "relationship" these countries have for eachother could definetly change depending on how well this urns out. It has been described that the 2 way trade between China and Australia has been around 40 billion in 2008. Many people have given their opinions to the ambassador on what they believe he should do. The free trade agreement has already gone through 13 rounds of negotions in order to try to successfully solve this problem.
2. Australia's democracy is a federal parliament democracy has a prime minister as the head of the government.
3 and 4. I believe that the attempted solutions for this conflict have been a good start but arent completely correct. I believe the counties need sit down together and discuss more about their countires and what they believe will best benefit them. This is very hard to do, however, this is one of the only ways that they will be able to understand where the other is coming from. Also, they need to both understand that it might not turn out exactly how they planned and just continue to make the best of the situation.
5. I believe that this situation will continue to for a while before the two countries realize they arent going to go anywhere if they do not communicate. The faster they realize this, the faster they will be able to get out of this trade mess!

1. Australia is going to cut the number of immigrants allowed into the country next year because of the global economic situation. About 190,300 immigrants were expected to arrive in Australia in 2009, but these predictions have been slashed because of decline in the economic growth. Some industries have already began cutting jobs.
2. Australia's democracy is a federal parliament democracy has a prime minister as the head of the government.
3. This is not a problem for Australia because they are doing this in hopes that it will improve their economy, but it could cause problems for the Asian countries with the many immigrants that usually migrate to Australia. Multiple Asian countries are already overpopulated, so without the emigration, they will posses more economic challenges than they already have during these times of economic struggle. Even though could be a problem for Asian countries, they cannot change anything due to Australia’s loss, but they can try to influence them and send people to try to work out a compromise.
4. In my opinion, this is not a problem. Australia is smart to lower their immigration amounts. This could greatly improve their economy.
5. I believe that Australia cutting of their number of immigrants that are allowed to come in to the country will improve their economy. Asian countries will suffer because of the excess amounts of people not emigrating to Australia, but they can not change it.

As everyone knows, australia's most common marsupial is the kangaroo- apparently too common, as of late. due to deforistationg and other such attacks on their natural habitats, kangaroos are jumping all over the nations capital, and the government wants to cull them- about 4 million this year. hunters with licenses are told to kill a certain amount every year, and this year the public is potitioning the record highs of kangaroo killing.
okay, their options are that they either kill thousands of animals horribly and cruely, using guns and euthenasia, or that the animals keep reproducing and overpopulate australia, making it illeagle to drive on the street cus all the marsupials will be in the way. neither sounds like a good idea, especially since the excess amout of kangaroos is leading to the near extinction of other animals.
as evil and heartless as i am, i don't think they should kill of 4 million kangaroos a year. ummmm, i mean, australia's not huge, but theres alot of space nobody's using. i mean, there's like a whole outback out there, can't some of them go there? and i understand some of them will have to die for animal control, i really do- its like dog shelters. but really, culling them? that's pretty sick. they should try to find places to move them to (though the article did mention the cost is not worth it.)
the public is aloud to complain until may 11th, but after that the government gets to make the kangaroo-killing-quota. i predict, honestly, that they will kill 4 million or more mkangaroos, and there is nothing anyone can do about it.
this artical's about antarctica, which has so few people there really isnt much of a parlaiment, republic, democracy, or any such thing^^ this artical is actualy only about antarctica, not involving it (i know that makes no sence)

this article talkes aboutthe problem of global warming and, more specificaly, what the UN thinks antarctica's involvment in it is. a giant ice shelf peice, about the size of jamaica, fell away. as if that wasn't bad enough, it came from the wilkinson's ice shelf, thich had connected to latady island. Even better is the fact that the giant paice of ice floatuing in the ocean wwill most likely add to global warming.
yeah, no real opptions, as this is not a fixable problem. i mean, superglue and duct tape fix almost everything, but i don't think so much this time, we'll just have to deal and hope that we dont sriwel into prunes from global warming now being caused by ice (oh the irony0.0)
again, solutions, there arn't any. i mean, how does one make a giant peice of ice melt, or put it abke in it's proper place, hmmm?
as far as my prediction, i think that the ice will float around. and hey, it's a good thing, now there's anotherrest stop for polar bears (keeps them from drowning all the time cus of global warming, which this ice causes- get it?) anyways, seriously, i don't think this could have been avoided, like you can't prop up a peic of ice, so we'll just have to deal. at least no people lived their and noone got hurt^^

Australia to support moves to isolate Fiji
This article is about how Commonwealth was suspended Fiji. This is because Fiji is very strict on its laws of media. They have police and guards in the news stations; they look at the articles and decided whether or not it is criticizing the government or president. Australia believes that media should be free and Fiji is under a military dictarship. Australia also believes that Fiji will not have an election in 2014 like the President Iloilo said they would.
Australia has a Federal Parliamentary Democracy. Fiji is a Federal Republic.
The choices Australia could make are to help Fiji’s government or suspend trading and condemn Fiji. Fiji could stop the military dictarshop it is currently doing or could keep doing it and be possibly isolated from major countries.
I think the best solution is that every country suspends trading to Fiji. I also think the United Nations should step in.
My prediction is that Fiji’s problem will grow bigger but no one will do anything about it. Then when it gets really big, countries will step in.

1. This article is about global warming. it says that the east of Antartica has cooled but the west of Antartica has increased in temperature. a coauthor, Eric J.
2. Antartica: Antartic Treaty?
3. Antartic has two choices. one, to ignore everything and let global warming to destroy its beauty or to do its best to help stop global warming.
4. The best solution would be to stop global warming. many areas in our Earth have been destroyed and we cant afford to loose anymore. by doing so, it can stop the temperature changes in Antartica and keep it in an constant weather.
5. I believe that sooner or later, people will realize what we are doing to the planet and hopefully try to stop it. i just hope it happens soon.

1. This article talked about the effects of the many deadly wildfires in Australia. There were 209 people killed and firefighters and rescue teams are continuing to search for more. Thousands of lives were affected by this devastation and scientists predict that even more fires will come because of the ripeness of the nation. Many Australians say that their work has just begun as they mourn, heal, and protect their country.
2.Australia is solely affected by this disaster and their form of government is a federal parliamentary democracy – central body of rules when citizens choose a person to represent them.
3.The citizens of Australia must make the choice of whether or not they will leave their homes to be destroyed or stay and perish.
4. Based on conditions and climate in Australia, I think that the best solution is to leave your home because material things really don’t matter.
5. In the future there will probably be more fires and more time for those who have lost someone special to mourn for them.

This article is about how Australia wants to kill kangaroos because of recent trucks hitting them while driving. Many of the citizens believe this is wrong because it is Autralia's national symbol, and killing wild animals could make them extinct. The reason to kill kangaroos is to reduce the risk of death or injury for drivers.
2)Australia is involved in its own current problem. Australia is a Parliament government. This means there is a group of members of the parliament, similar to congress.
3) Australia can either kill off kangaroos and reduce the risk to drivers, but also kill their national symbol and kill an innocent species, which are a "beautiful bloody" species. Australia can also not kill kangaroos, save their national symbol, and not arouse more conflict among the citizens.
4) I think the best solution for this problem is to not kill the kangaroos. This would make the citizens happy, and they would keep a long lasting tradition. Also, kangaroos would not be endangered, and national pride, is worth more than a few car accidents.
5) I predict that Australia will not kill kangaroos due to controversy and protests among the citizens in Australia. Also, killing their own national symbol would be to crucial.

2) Australia is a parliament government. As mentioned before, this is a form of democracy.
3) Police have an option to kill all saltwater crocodiles due to this man's death, or stop drunk swimmers from swimming in rivers at midnight. Killing crocodiles would create huge controversy among animal rights people.
4) Best solution to solve this problem is to let crocodiles live, and keep away from them. Also, drunk men shouldn't go swimming in rivers when they are vulnerable to crocodiles.
5) I predict more deaths will follow along with the 4 this year, because crocodiles are predators and you cannot change that. Humans will continue to make themselves vulnerable to nature.
