Russia is a federation country which means, it’s a union comprising a number of partially self-governing states or regions united by a central government. Right now the president is Dmitry Medvedev since May, 7 2008.
This article is about how German Chancellor Angela Merkel wants to strengthen cooperation with Russia. for many years now they had no problems with Russia at all and they want to make sure this peaceful “era” stays like this for many more years. She called NATO and discussed wit the president about the strengthening of their ties.
Now what Russia must do is attend to the meeting and make sure it agrees on Merkel’s opinion and also that it keeps the peaceful it has and restates that the Cold War is now just the past.
Since Russia is doing so good at keeping the peace they should just keep doing what they are.
If this peaceful status is going on Russia might even set an example for other countries and they would follow and eventually we will have what we all want…peace.

1). Russia is a federation and has self-governing states and a unifying central government. However, the states are bound by a constitution. The current president is Dmitry Medvedev and the prime minister is Vladimir Putin.
2). This article is about the former president Gorbachev wanting to strengthen the US-Russian relationship. Our relationship has been strained because of the Cold War, NATO expansion, the tensions of Russia and Georgia, and how to handle the Iranian nuclear program. Obama and Gorbachev will meet in London on April 1st to converse. It would be of great benefit for these 2 countries to be allies because they are both so pwerful that they can do so much to help the world.
3). These nations can either work out their differences or both be stubborn like they have in the past. Our views are somewhat different so it is very possible that we may disagree.
4). I definitely think it would be best to talk about our problems and compromise because if we work together, the world will see that everyone can put behind their differences and work together.
5). I think that if Obama and Gorbachev work togeher, we can have a better relationship, but it won't come right off the bat. There has been a lot of bad blood between our countries and some people will have to be shown how we can come together.

1. Afghanistan is also considered as Republic of Afghanistan and is a form of Islamic republic. Islamic republic is a particular form of government adopted by Muslim states. Although this state is in theory and is a theocracy, it remains a republic, but its laws are required to be compatible with the laws of Islam.

Russia plans to spend billions of dollars upgrading its nuclear weapons and the rest of its military forces. Russia's defense minister accused the United States of beefing up its military presence near Russian borders and poaching for mineral wealth. Medvedev says that Russia's nuclear forces was the top priority in an ambitious military modernization plan and pledged to pursue the worst economic crisis in a decade. Medvedev will have a meeting with President Barack Obama to discuss about a new arms control treaty and other major disputes. This country is also deeply wary of any U.S. presence in oil. Russia is signaling that it would be a tough negotiation team.
3. Russia thinks that U.S. aspirations have been aimed at getting access to raw materials, energy, and other resources; also active support was given to the processes aimed at pushing Russia out of the sphere of its traditional interests. They plan to build missile defense sites in eastern Europe and bring ex-Soviet republics into NATO angered Moscow. The Russian officials hope that Obama administration will cancel plans to deploy missile defense sites in Poland and the Czech Republic and Moscow has raised the stakes by threatening.
4. Russia should not spend so much money on nuclear weapons, so they should reduce the amount of money. Being a competitive partner will do no benefit to anything! They should be more appreciative when it comes to working together with another county or nation.
5. I do not think it is right to blame the U.S. for things that we possibly did not do. And how Moscow is threatening to deploy missiles if the we go ahead with the missile shield. I'm not really sure if this will work out as great because of Russia's "tough" negotiations.

1) Spain is a Parliamentary democracy and a Constitutional Monarchy. This means that the executive and legislative branch overlap. They share some power. The prime minister is Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero. Also being a constituional monarchy, there is also a king who is Juan Carlos. The king is bound by the constitution.
2) This article is about how Spain is allowing people to buy homes under market rates which is a breach to the European Convention on Human Rights. The European Govenment will freeze hundreds of millions of Spanish euros if Spain doesn't take care of this problem quickly. The developers were demanding the home owners to sell their homes under market prices and if they refused, the could have their homes demolished. This is the 3rd time Spain has been in trouble for planning practices.
3)Spain has a choice of either doing what is right and taking care of this issue, or letting it continue and lose millions of euros. If they lose that money however, they will be in a financial pickle.
4) I think that Spain should stop the sale of houses for under market prices because it is unfair to so many people and costs them a lot of money.
5) I think that Spain will stop this problem because they won't want to lose their money, not because it is the right thing to do. Obviously Spain should have learned their lesson a long time ago but maybe the loss of money will help them learn it. Because, when it boils down to it, all the world wants is money.

There was a major bus accident near city of Ulyanovsk were the driver of a truck fell asleep and collided with a passenger bus. This resulted with the death of 24 people including the truck driver.
3. Russia should really start enforcing their driving rules. Most of the accidents at Russia are due to lack of laws on the streets.
4. I think the best solutions is enforcing the drivers to drive safely. Rules of the road are completely ignored in Russia and that should be stopped.
5. I doubt that Russia will change much and therefor neither will the situation or the problem.

1. Russias government consists of an executive govermental body, along with an executive branch and a juridicial ground- " COntstitution of the Rusian Federation".
2. This article talked how Russia has stopped gas supplies and trade with the Ukraine after a heated dispute over some unpaid bills and gas prices. Southeastern Europe is also feeling the economic effects of this dispute between Russia and the Ukraine.
3. The options that RUssia has at the moment seem to be one of two things. They could either resolve the conflicts with the Ukraine so that the trade with them can be more natural again, or they could find another country to get the supplies from
4. The solution that i feel most suited for this situation would be to just solve what ever conflict happened between Russia and the Ukraine. I think that this is true for all lot of the problems between conflicts is just because countries wont let go of some stupid grudge.
5. i predict that RUssia will hold on to that grudge agianst the Ukraine and not make peace with them. i predict that that conflict wont end anytime soon, and that because of it the economy will suffer even more.

Russia’s form of government is a Russian federation. This means that it is a federation in northeastern Europe and northern Asia; formerly Soviet Russia, since 1991 an independent state.
http://www.nytimes.com/2009/03/25/world/europe/25moscow.html
This article discussed that there are also bad economic times happening in Moscow, Russia. During a particular parade there were only a few volunteer men watching and protecting the streets. This is due to Soviet collapse which has dwindled their numbers. However the government is trying to revive the so called “druzhiniki” or volunteer men who wear red armbands and walk the streets looking out for hooligans and petty criminals. There are many volunteers because they say that some fear a return to the days of civilian informers. Most people come together, especially when it comes to protecting children and keeping teenagers out of trouble. However after the government withdrew its support, many druzhiniki disappeared; then they reappeared after terrorist attacks on apartment buildings. Most of them started to patrol their own neighborhoods simply because they felt that it was needed. There are controversies such as if they already have problems controlling their police, then what will an un-trained un-armed less-disciplined structure do? But others agree that they are needed because an officer cannot be bribed when a druzhiniki is watching.
In order to solve this problem…..I think it has actually been solved. This is so because there are people who actually care for their fellow citizens because they are citizens. The police usually are in it for the money and their being able to help, but they volunteers are just doing it to keep their children and families safe.
I also agree that the solution they have been thinking of will end up working nicely.
I think that this is a good idea because I am sure that it will make the people of the city come together and understand each other and be able to make many friends who care about them.

Second article as part of make-up
1) Russia is a federation and its states are self-governing. However, the states are bound by the Russian constitution. The current president is Dmitry Medvedev and the prime minister is Vladimir Putin.
3)This article is about how several countries are working together to stablize Afghanistan. The countries are China, Russia the EU, Iran, India, and Pakistan. The goal of the conference was to stop all the drugs and civil fighting taking place there. There is a threat that all the violence taking place in Afghanistan will spread to the other Central Asian countries. The countries have agreed to fight for all the innocent civilians that have died in the wake of this unruly time.
3) These nations have an option of letting Afghanistan take care of their own problems, or helping them out. Obviously they have made the proper choice by choosing to lend Afghanistan a hand.
4) I believe that these nations are being very friendly to Afghanistan. All nations should follow their example and help each other out every now and then. If every nation didn't help another nation to recover, we would be living in a world that wasn't very nice.
5) I predict that these nations will help Afghanistan get back on its feet, but it will take time and effort. All of the horrible things that are occuring won't dissappear in the blink of an eye. It's going to take soldiers and police to reignin the drug lords in as well as the organized crime leaders. But change will happen eventually.

RUSSIA SAYS NORTH KOREA SHOULD NOT LAUNCH ROCKET
1) Russia is a federation. It is commonly knows as the Russian Federation by many people and the United Nations. A Federation is a union comprising a number of partially self-governing states or regions united by a central (usually federal) government. The self-governing states have much power of their own laws and regulations and cannot be changed by the federal governments' decision unless it is extremely necessary. The most powerful political leader in the Russian Confederation and the Head of Government is Vladimir Putin. The Russian Federation is possibly the most powerful federation in the entire world and will continue to be as long as they propose successful laws and cooperate internationally.
2) http://www.reuters.com/article/newsMaps/idUSTRE52Q1ED20090327
This article talks about the Russian Federation's intolerance for North Korea's launching of a satellite rocket. Russia believes that North Korea must not launch rockets into space because they might be trying to develop their Weapons of Mass Destructions or their nuclear program. Russia understands they current tension in Eastern Asia and encourages North Korea to resolve their problems through peaceful ways of international negotiation.
3) As a Big Five nation along with the USA, UK, China, and France, Russia has the capacity to help other nations develop their nuclear programs for peaceful purposes. Since Russia believes that North Korea does not want their nuclear program for peaceful reasons, they are not willing to help them and are discouraging them from obtaining nuclear power. Since Russia is very powerful and dominant they have a good chance of getting what they want. One option would be to appeal to the United Nations and say that they do not trust North Korea.
4) I believe that if Russia were to appeal to the United Nations and try to persuade them to look more deeply in this issue concerning North Korea's rocket, they would have a good chance of stopping North Korea from launching their rocket from Pyongyang. Russia has already contacted its allies and told them the situation and their view of what should happen. Russia is trying to resolve this matter peacefully, and so far that is working and there are not many conflicts so far. Russia is trying to settle this issue peacefully and hopefully North Korea will cooperate more efficiently.
5) I believe that North Korea will still eventually launch this rocket because they have worked on this one project for several years and now that they have finally created this, they feel the need to launch it. I do not believe that they will listen Russia alone because Russia has been aiding other countries create nuclear weapons and feels that Russia is not willing to help them. However is maybe all the Big Five nations come together along with other world powers and the United Nations, North Korea might eventually try to listen and cooperate. But by looking at the current situation, I believe that North Korea will launch this rocket. The only thing we can hope for is that by launching this rocket, they will not create more Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles.

Russia is a federation, which is a union consisting of states that partially self-govern. They are all united by a central government. The prime minister of Russia is Vladimir Putin president is Dmitry Medvedev.
Russia is planning to construct a minimum of six nuclear powered submarines. They will have long-range cruise missiles attached to them, says a source form the Russian Defense Ministry. Thankfully, Russia plans to respect the international arms control agreements with other countries. The new submarines will enter the Russian Navy by 2011.
There is not a specific problem that is presented in this article. However, the Russian Federation must be careful in what the do with these submarines. Also, they need to be very watchful that they do not break their agreement with other countries on the international arms control agreement.
Russia should just stop construction on all these nuclear weapons and defense mechanisms. In fact, all countries should. If no one has nuclear weapons, no one will need them to protect them from them because no one will have them.
In my opinion, Russia does not need these submarines if they do not plan to use them. All these submarines are going to do it create problems. Other countries will hear of these submarines and it will spark the desire for them to have these nuclear war submarines too.

In the following article it explains how Russian’s government is trying to head of their country’s population decline by lurking the people who live abroad as well their descendants. Many of the countries that Mr. Reutov has spoken with, within the religious community are from the country of Uruguay. Many of the Russians have found themselves living in the former Soviet republics after its collapse in the year of 1991.
According to Mr. Reutov, he did not attend a meeting in Brazil in discussing the enrollment of the program. Also in the article it says how Russia deals with their global financial crisis, and it states that they are a more stable country; therefore Mr. Reutov from Uruguay has trust within the neighboring country. Of all dealing with Russia’s disquieting population drop, the United Nations feels that their country will fall to less people like at least 116 million by the year of 2050, 18 percent decline! As for the countries Germany and Egypt they are as well promoting the program and attended the meeting in Brazil. Overall the program is not open to any Russian descendants; it is for those who speak only Russian!
3.I think that the choices the countries have chosen are the right thing to do in promoting the program for those who only speak Russian. Their choices in lurking people who live abroad are okay because they are only interacting with the neighboring countries in discussing the population decline.
4.I think that the best solution to resolve the problem is taking into account by discussing the population decline IMMEDIATELY!
5.I predict that the issue at hand will be resolved. It was a great idea to discuss the issue with only neighboring countries as well as religion.

This article summarizes the reasons of the U.S. and Russia relationship. It describes the Arms Control, which is about a treaty created during the Cold War about nuclear power and its control and inspection. Another aspect is Missile Defense, where the Russia is a bit worried about the US’s missile defense in Europe. Now, the Obama administration is considering delaying the action of employing this plan.
3. To solve these two problems, the US and Russia must learn to let go of the past. After the Cold War, Russia and United States have had some troubles with cooperating with each other, and they need to solve these problems.
4. A solution that these two nations can use is connect with each other more often, they would be able to know the problems each of them are having, and solve them more easily. They need to make a treaty that works for these problems, and make sure to stick to it.
5. The future of this problem seems vague, but it can also be hopeful. If the US and Russia are really determined to solve their problems, I definitely think it could happen.

This article is about a new code that the ministry of Russia is imposing on police officers. this new code establishes ethical norms for police officers. since they are publicly seen as corrupt and often violent, the officers are obliged, by this new code, to obtain a respectful and polite reputation. To do this, the code prohibits them from drinking at work, gambling, making crude jokes, talking on cell phones on public transportation and smoking in public. It also states that policemen must not be “committed to the cult” of money and power, and it even bans one of the seven deadly sins: envy. It calls on the use correct Russian grammar and be courteous to women.
3.The choices Russia had to solve the problem with the police, they have already taken. This new ethics code is something that can really help them solve the problem if the officers oblige to it.
4.It seems as Russia has taken appropriate measures by creating this code. however, there should be drastic measure taken to ensure that the ethics code is taken into action, for example those that don't follow the code can be removed from the force for temporary time period.
5.Idont think the code will be taken seriously because a police officer has already broken it by anonymously talking to the press. Moreover, this officer has also expresses derogatory feelings to the code.

1. Russia is a federation. A federation is a counry with semi-self-governing regions with one central government linking them all.
2. Even though Russia is in a state of very bad economical crisis, it is projected that Russia still has yet to see the worst of their problems, because their exact debt is still unclear. Also, there will definitely be a second wave of depression because the country's banking systejm will collapse as companies and people do not pay their loans. It is predicted that Russia's GDP will fall 2.2 percent this year, and could sink farther.
3. There isn't much that anybody in Russia can do about this problem. The only people who have power to solve any problems are those who are in posession of all the money, and they tend to not care about the rest of the world's state of terrible economy.
4. I think the best solution to the bad ecomomy (not just in Russia but also for the rest of the world) is to take the money from the people who have it all and actually circulate it so other people can have some too.
5. I think that the entire world will go into a Great Depression. No one (with the exeption of a very small percentage of people) has any money, so the world will collapse and we will go back into another Dark Ages.

This article is about how North Korea is sending up another satellite, and has threatened certain countries that it is an act of war to once again shoot it down. Russia has pointed out that it is not a good idea to launch the satellite, because Russia shares a small border with North Korea. Further tensions are created because of this satellite.
3) Russia, for one, has the choice to stop North Korea from launching their satellite, by destroying it. But because North Korea has threatened many countries to go tow ar if this was done, Russia can ultimately do nothing about it.
4) I think the solution that would best solve the problem is if all countries could unite together, and stop North Korea from their possible terrorist actions. Many of their satellites have been shot down due to suspicions of terrorist actions. Because of this, Russia would be better off if they were to ally with North Korea as well as many other countries, so there are no suspicions of terrorist actions, and no threats from North Korea towards other countries.
5) I predict that Russia will continue to do nothing about the satellite due to safety issues. Russia will continue to play it safe and not destroy another satellite of North Korea, so no war is started.

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev ordered on Friday the Federal Security Service chief to consider formally ending the counter-terrorist operation in Chechnya. Russia has been conducting its counter-terrorist operation in Chechnya since September 1999. Russia's form of government is a federation and it means that there are states and a central government, sort of like the United States
The article talks about a two famous hypnotist's programs on TV during Russia. They were supposedly able to heal people when they were watching his programs and when it aired, there was no traffic on the streets. Kashpirovsky, one of the hynotists, got so popular, he became part of the lower parliament of Russia. People were watching this program to receive relief from their daily lives. Reports show that this program may come back again because this show may become more popular due to the economic crisis.
This may be a problem for Russia because in this article, it states that the hypnotist was one of the reasons that the Russian government turned Communist because it may have fueled the people's sense of justice.I think that the government can't really do much about this problem since they have done nothing wrong yet.
I think that the Russians should just leave the program and see what will happen to the citizens.
I don't think that the people will rebel against the government and make a Communist country again since it led to suffering and economic depression

3. The nations need other nations to agree with their points and adopt the currency.
4. I agree with Russia. I think that there should be one major currency. I don’t understand why this hasn’t been thought of before, why do we have multiple types anyways. If we have one we would all be united.
5.I don’t think a “super currency” will happen because it would be too hard to change.

2. “President Dmitry Medvedev on Friday ordered the Russian authorities to move towards ending the anti-terror operation in Chechnya” “Russia fought two full-scale wars with separatist forces after the collapse of the Soviet Union” Alexander Bortnikov says that he thinks this will only help the normilization of the situations in Chechnya.
2. I think that Alexander Bortnikov’s proposal is one option. But keeping people in might be another option to consider.
4. I think the solution would be to have Alexander keep his word and call people out. That would wrap up their problems in tdealing with the nation. However, I’m not really sure how it would HELP anything.
5. I think that, because Alexander really has no reason not to, he will pull his forces out of Chechnya. I think that something COULD pop up and deter his decision but ultimately the forces will leave at some point in time.

This article was about how president Barrack Obama is going to have a meeting with Dmitry Medvedev about nuclear weapons and uses and how they will press the "reset button" and rescue the two countries from dying arms control treaty and prevent a return to Cold War nuclear rivalry. Which deals with the replacement of one of the most important Cold War deals limiting the world's largest nuclear arsenals. Some say the process will be very difficult because they will not be able to know about each others nuclear forces. Last July Russia had about 4,100 warheads available and the United States had around 5.950. They are working on lowering the amount.
3. They have the option of doing START again but based on the other years it has failed. But they can keep making new treaties and actually follow the rules. But from the looks of it this will be a very hard task to do.
4. I think what they are doing is fine but they have to actually participate and want to get rid of some of the nuclear weapons.
5. I think it will soon happen but it will take awhile and when it does happen it will be a good thing and help both countries.

1 Russia is a federation. A federation has a group of people who work together to govern the federation. It is also semi-presidential which means there is a president and prime minister working together to govern the state. It is also a republic which means there is no monarch and people have an impact on government. Dmitry Medvedev is the president of Russia and Vladimir Putin is the prime minister. Sergey Mernov is the chairman of the federation.
2 http://www.russiatoday.com/Politics/2009-03-21/New_security_arrangement_needed___Russian_FM.html. Russia is calling on NATO and Europe to form new treaties to ensure security. Russia is not feeling secure as of now and is worried about NATO’s tendency to judge everyone and everything. They want a legally blinded international security agreement. This idea isn’t expected to be accepted.
3 NATO and Europe can except the agreement or they can just ignore it. They could probably write it themselves or let Russia write it.
4 I think the problem will be solved if they just make something soon. They should let Russia write it then read it over as bunch to make sure they are not up to anything. But they need to show they respect and trust Russia. I don’t think Russians want to be held on a leash, but they probably want to trust us and us return the favor.
5 I think Obama will try to please people and rush into it and let Russia write a treaty. I don’t think we will be getting into any wars with Russia for quite some time. I think Russia might end up turning it down and just wanting to work with the EU.

This article states that President Barack Obama has openly assaulted the Russian government. Russia has made a call and a proposition for the dollar to be removed as the international currency and for it to be replaced by a more powerful, reliable currency. At a news conference last week, Obama stated that he did not believe that there is a need for a universal currency.
These nations could openly talk about the thought of an international currency and why they believe what they believe is right.

2. This article is about how Russian president ordered a major military rearmament on Tuesday, warning his country faced the risk of "significant conflict." Russia's defense minister also spoke of United States accusing the country of plotting to control of energy and mineral sources of the states bordering Russia. Medvedev said that NATO was still intent on expanding closer to Russia's borders and told military chiefs to raise the combat readiness of the country's armed forces.
3. The country is trying to solve this problem by Medvedev calling for modernization of Russia's nuclear forces. Their primary task is to increase the combat readiness of their forces, first of all strategic nuclear forces.
4. The best solution I can bring up is they should talk NATO and Russia to figure out if really what Russia is saying is true. They should work with one another and not bring conflicts. President Obama has tried to ease tensions with the US over missile defense.
5. I predict that Russia and NATO with the US will end up in a compromise and fix any misunderstanding.

This article talks about how luxuries aren't so popular anymore. The luxurious capital has hit a recession. Russia is the world's fourth-largest luxury buyer. This year's profits will be slashed by around a third in the country's luxery clothes and accessories industry. Moscow buys over 80 percent of Russia's luxury goods. Places with low retail prices are becoming very pupular. Companies are not releasing figures to prevent scaring people. Some boutiques sales are falling by up to 10 percent. At fashion shows and fashion week, they are scaling back on the number of participants by 20%.
3. There is really not much that this nation can do ALONE. Perhaps they can update currency, and help those in need. Cut back on spending.
4. I think all the nations need to hold a huge convention and discuss this recession. It has gotten way out of hand.
5. I predict that we are going to be in this "slump" for a while until much changes. Eventually, I believe the problem will start to decrease if all the nations work together and come up with beneficial solutions for everyone.

Dear all,
the article i read about was about a guy who was arrested for killing somone. it wasnt very important on a world view, and is insignificant in the broad view of life, but is a broad aspect in itself. i think that in a world of hate, war and imperfection, nothing will ever be right. and knowing the past events that have involved death; holocaust, soviet union, this trend will never end. i think that the world must put its opinions aside andstop killing people. if it is because of someone losing money, it is that own person's fault, but lots of things have a balancing force towards that. and trying to create world peace will not help. even people who try to be perfect are killed, so world peace is not possible. but we kill for reasons sometimes. we must stop killing senclessly.

Russia has decided that they would enjoy possesing the Arctic. Russia wants to create a military force to protect it interests in the Arctic region. However, The US, Canada, Denmark and Norway have also been trying to gain the Arctic. The dispute has intensified lately. Russia says that by 2011 they will complete their studies of the Arctic. Russia has launched several submarines to "collect geological and water samples and drop a titanium canister containing the Russian flag." They are despirately trying to convey that they have the arctic. They claim they are protecting their territory, but according to the records the Arctic belongs to no one and isn't claimed.
These nations have three choices. Give the Arctic to Russia and let them profit from the hidden recources as they suck it dry and watch as they melt it with their bomb/military testings. Option two, go to war with the other competing nations and start an arms race to control the arctic, and it would probably just blow up in the end anyways. Or, just make the Arctic offlimits to everyone and solve the stupid problem.
Duh, make the Arctic completely offlimits to EVERYONE except explorers or whatever and stop the madness thats surely coming. If we do this we can avoid a serious war. Because if the US and Russia and Norway and Canada and Denmark are caught in the fray then everyone will look up and be like, hey we want some ice too and join the fight. no doubt in the process the arctic will melt because of global warming and nuclear radiation but HEY. we want ice. They n eed to pass a law that says if you attempt to control the arctic, then you will face the wrath of the combined forces of the world, as in one little russia against the whole world including Korea, Japan, US, China the whooooole bucketload.
I predict that if the dummies at the UN don't do something soon as in, offlimit the Arctic or die, otherwise its a fat ugly arms race to the ice.

With our newly elected President Obama, the stategies he has proposed towards the Afghan Strategy does not seem 100% convincing to the people of those countries. The US would like more militants in the Russian area but it doesnt seem to be exactly whats best for the countries. The countries are joining hands with their allies and not completely agreeing with what the Obama admin. has presented. Russia and iran, in particular are teaming up to press ahead with the present US policy. Russia's roads and links could be highly effected depending on the outcome of this conflict.
3 and 4. These counties need to be able to work together to assure success. All the countries that this involves, need to come together and propose all possible solutions and go from there.
5. I believe this conflict will take a very long time to clear up. Because of the high amount of other conflicts these countries are dealing with on the top of their priority list, it is very diffuicutlt to get them all together.

This article is about six men, from all over Europe and Russia, who are going to spend the next 3 months in a simulated space shuttle. they are there testing the physical and phycilogical effects of long term space travel in a study pereparing for trips to mars. The "astro-nots" will spend a total of 105 days inside the fake ship. this is all the time they need to study, tohugh the actual trip would take about a year and a half round-trip.
There can't really be a right or wrong for this, though i do supose i could say it is right that they do this study. they will be allowed to send people into space for long perioda of time without worrying about their mental state if all goes well, and if not they can probably fix whatever the problem is. their determination is so strong they treat this just like a real space tripand refuse to go inside for all 105 days- they will evenwait 20 minuets between calls like a real ship would. This dedication shows they will spare no expense to care for their people, be they on earth or in space. i think overall this is a very smart idea.
I think that by doing this test they will learn something, either way, and use it to their advantage. either they will learn that humans can handle this endurance, or they will learn it is too hard and find a way to fix it. i think this is the best thing that could happen before taking a year and a half trip to mars.
in the future, they will be able t go farther and farther into space. by having done this study now they can learn what they will need to do to the ships to make them livable for that long period of time.

In this article, there have been a new string of bombings in Iraq. The latest on killed 7 people and wounded about 17 more. There is a lot of fear that these attacks may have been made as US troops start to pull back. This particular bombing was targeting a police station in Iraq and killed 4 police men. No one has claimed these attacks yet. Also mentioned in the article, the British troops in Iraq have been taken out of there. All 4000 soldiers are going to be fully evacuated by the end of may. It is expected that the US soldiers completely pull out in 2011. US is currently slowly restoring order to the Iraqi government.
2. The country involved with this is Iraq and they currently hold a interim government. This was a US established government for Iraq.
3. There is not a lot that Iraq can do to stop this from happening. Iraq has been dependent on US to help is so far, so therefore US has the choice to pull out now, and let Iraq die as a country, or stay there and hope that the more soldiers we throw at it the better the situation will get.
4. The best solution is to keep all of our troops in Iraq until the situation is completely stable. Though it is true that things have improved much since US entered, but things are also currently getting worse. The suicide bombings have been more frequent and so therefore our only solution is to stay in there until these bombings stop.
5.I think as well as hope that the situation in Iraq will get better and not worse. But with US losing its grip on the situation, things will not get better I am almost sure of it.

i agree with you joey, russia needs to work on their traffic issues. but at the same time, i think them trusting the people might be the best- it's certainly better then america's decission to give so many rules that having a dark window can give you a fine><. America has taken the use of street inforcment too sever in an attempt to stop all accidents, but it just gets crazy. so of course us, being from california, where there are about 70 million rules, would think they need more laws to protect people on the streets. And i know that their rate of accide4nt sis much higher then ours, higher even then most countries. So i do agree that some laws should be set in place, realistic ones that will actually save people, but i don't think they should get as crazy about it as we do.

Russia is a federation, meaning that it is formally divided into cities, states, or provinces that have some control of their internal affairs. Russia's president is Dmitry Medvedev.
A Russian car plant announced this month that it will shut down indefinitely, causing 5,000 workers to become unemployed. This is the first major auto failure during the economic crisis. The car plant Izhavto, which assembles autos for Kia Motors and AvtoVAZ, is going to stop production at its base. Spokesman Dmitry Rumyantsev said,"We have been taking a loss of $5 million every month for five months. We can't handle it any more." On Monday, the Kremlin promised billions of dollars in direct aid, loans and loan guarantees to Russia's four biggest car makers, fearing that lay-offs and rising poverty levels could bring social unrest.
I think Russia is handling the situation well because they are working to create job opportunities and trying to get money to the people and companies who need it as soon as possible.
The economic crisis is an issue affecting the entire planet, and it will be extremely difficult to solve. However, it will eventually come to an end and the economy will be in good shape again.

in a recent update it is said that russia and u.s have agreed to work through the recent harships they faced. they have both agreed to minimize the amount of stcokpiles. the first meeting the new president had with russian president is a crucial one since it will affect how the former alllience will occur.now both president obama and mr medvdev have agreed to have two stage effort in regaining ties.and pnaing to reduce 15000 warheads.
there is no solution because this is the solution for russia and u.s differences in the past years. both have agreed to work and come up with compormises
i think it was a good decision for U.S. and russia to come together because we have learned over the years that the best way to figure thing out is to talk. without communication everything just goes down hill.

Second article (make up work.)
/Soviet_Era_TV_Mystic_To_Stage_Comeback/1563956.html
The article talks about a two famous hypnotist's programs on TV during Russia. They were supposedly able to heal people when they were watching his programs and when it aired, there was no traffic on the streets. Kashpirovsky, one of the hynotists, got so popular, he became part of the lower parliament of Russia. People were watching this program to receive relief from their daily lives. Reports show that this program may come back again because this show may become more popular due to the economic crisis.
This may be a problem for Russia because in this article, it states that the hypnotist was one of the reasons that the Russian government turned Communist because it may have fueled the people's sense of justice.I think that the government can't really do much about this problem since they have done nothing wrong yet.I think it is wrong just to listen to some random people on tv who became popular over people thinking that they can relieve all their stress.
I think that the Russians should let the program run for a while and see what happens. It may not seem harmful and maybe it isn't but you never know.
I don't think anything too bad can come out of this. If it does it isn't going to be a tragedy.

Plan to Curb Internet Piracy Advances in France
This article explains how France might have a device that the internet providers must control, that shows illegal downloads. This device would have three strikes. First it would send an email to the person. Second, they would be notified by a certified letter. Third the internet would be severed. Non-Supporters say that it is against the French Constitution and it would drive downloader’s underground.
France is a Republic.
France could pass this and make it into law. It may help their economy since because of illegal downloading; it is losing $1 billion a year. Or it could not use the device and try to stop it by verbally condemning it.
I think the best solution is to use the device, however I think the three strikes is not strict enough. I think if you do it once you should have to pay three times the amount you should have paid for it. So I support the government watching who downloads the illegal downloads just not the total program.
My prediction is that it will be passed in a year not shortly, but I don’t think it will be very effective. I think the government might find some low percentage of illegal downloads, but not much.

RUSSIA EXTRA CREDIT
1) Russia is a federation. It is commonly knows as the Russian Federation by many people and the United Nations. A Federation is a union comprising a number of partially self-governing states or regions united by a central (usually federal) government. The self-governing states have much power of their own laws and regulations and cannot be changed by the federal governments' decision unless it is extremely necessary. The most powerful political leader in the Russian Confederation and the Head of Government is Vladimir Putin. The Russian Federation is possibly the most powerful federation in the entire world and will continue to be as long as they propose successful laws that benefit their people and cooperate internationally among other countries and the United Nations.

This article is about the Russian Federation and its cooperation regarding nuclear arms. The United States of America and Russia are discussing nuclear policies and are focusing on the number of nuclear warheads and their explosive power. Also the political leaders are argueing that nuclear weapons are not really intended to be used but are only meant to deter and therefore war plans and alert forces increase the credibility of the deterrent and make the attack less likely. Russia claims that it only holds its nuclear weapons for peaceful purposes and its Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles are for the same reason as well.
3) So far the Russian Federation and the USA are working out some treaties about nuclear arms and biological and chemical weapons. Overall, this is going very well because both nations are cooperating peacefully and there are no major disputes. Some options would be to decrease the number of nuclear weapons so the environment will become safer. Also, the USA states that if Russia were to start a nuclear war, the USA will have to attack them back and possibly destroy them. The most successful option would be to update nuclear policies between Russia and the USA so there is more understanding and cooperation. This way both nations will feel secure with each other and be less suspicious of one another.
4) I believe that by restructuring nuclear policies between the Russian Federation and the United States there will be more nuclear security for both of those nations as well as other countries. Also I believe that Russia must take care of their nuclear facilities more efficiently and carefully so they do not injure their own citizens like before. By doing this, they can adapt the closed nuclear fuel cycle which reuses some of the nuclear waste and decrease the potential danger of nuclear material.
5) I think both Russia and USA will resolve their nuclear issues peacefully without any violence because I believe that neither of them want to start a nuclear war with each other. In the future I believe that nuclear ties between the USA and the Russian Federation will be stronger do to their international cooperation and understanding of each other's policies. However I believe that the safety regarding Russia's nuclear waste plants will continue to be hazardous because they do not have the resources to fix their health issues. In conclusion, the ties between Russia and the USA will be strong as long as both nations are respectful of each other's nuclear beliefs.
