Summary = This article talks about how North Korea Started to develop their weapons because they were sure that the US would not use their weapons against them.
Hilary clinton says that the us has enough Weapons to oblitereate Iran. Norht korea's weapons program has produced about 50 KG of Plutionium
Analysis (your thoughts) = I think North Korea is digging their own Grave. They need to stop working on their weapon arsenals, or soon no other countries will trust them and it will take a long time to gain back their trust when they might need it the most.
Prediction (how do you think it will turn out) = I think they wont stop creating these weapons any time soon until they get a new leader, one that is possibly a little more well in the head.

Summary: On Thursday, the International Red Cross got extremely mad at the one too many delays that kept workers from rescuing three different cities that were bombed, and when the workers finally go t to their destination, there were fifteen people dead, 18 people badly wounded, and many people in shock and too weak to keep their heads up. The delays were caused by a refusal to let the rescuers past a roadblock and said that they could not pass for four days, and the Israelis blamed the delay on fighting.
Analysis: I think that this kind of stupid delays are unnacceptable, because many people died and many more can be in critical condition. The world needs less of these dumb excuses and more of peole actully doing their job and helping others.
Prediction: I really think that this problem will progress and get worse as time passes, until no one will ever be saved from this madness.

This article is about how the economy in the United States is not only hurting people here, but also in Europe as well.
The Bank of England has dropped interest rate to a all time low for them for the first time, 1.6%.
This article also adds more to the depressing news; 4.5 million Americans are unemployed. With that many people unemployed, it is sure to drag something down, such Wal- Mart, the world's largest public corporation.
I believe that the world economy won't be simplied with a term of Obama as President. Look at Ronald Reagan, a president who dramitcally turned the economy from a worthless profit into a precious profit. But it took until Bill Clinton's term til people to finally realize how great it is to be able to invest into a stock without worrying of economic slumps.
My prediction is that if Obama does want to become similiar to Regean, he will have to make a plan that would cost $800 billion doallers. He's going to have to make a new plan, such as, give Americans enough money to invest to wise choices. Example: BJ's Restaurant in Orange County was the top stock for Wednesday and rose to an estimate of +36 points

In this article, it states how Pope Benedict XVI has talks for Gaza and Congo, to end violence rebellions and war. Pope Benedict XVI is using religion to stop conflicts, and calling the violence 'inhumane brutality'. In Congo, over 50 bodies in the courtyard of a Catholic church on Christmas morning. He also mentioned to the Israelis and Palestinians of Gaza that 'hatred and the rejection of dialogue bring nothing but war'. Overall, the Pope is trying to use religion to influence the minds of people in wars around the world, and encourages different people to sort our their beliefs.
In my opinion, this is a heroic act by Pope Benedict XVI. He is using his knowledge to influence other people into good things, and peacefully attempts to sort our differences between rivaling groups. This is just one example of what people need to do to try and stop war, instead of sympathizing a current conflict, and doing nothing about it.
I predict that this influential talk towards Gaza and Congo by Pope Benedict XVI will help lower violence, but won't be enough to end it. Rivalry groups will continue to start violence and wars, until each side gets what they want. Unfortunately, this won't happen unless rivalry groups create a compromise, to solve the conflicts regarding their will to create more violence.

The United States really wants India and Pakistan to investigate the November 26 Mumbai attacks and to fight terrorism with more strength. Robert Wood, state Department Spokesman, said he was not aware whether or not the Indian External Affairs Minister Pranuab Mukherjee we on his way to the US with evidence of Pakistan's assistance in the Mumbai attacks or whether Joe Biden's upcoming trip to SOuthwest Asia was connected with the assault. The U.S. strongly believe cooperation needs to be enhanced. Biden's next destinations might be Afghanistan, Pakistan, or India.
I'm not really sure what to think of this whole situation. It would be nice to have full cooperation from other nations in investigating, but you can never get that. As for Biden, I don't really think he contributed to the attacks.
My prediction is the once this boils over a little bit, India and Pakistan will cooperate a bit more. Maybe then, things will get solved.

Summary- This article is about the current crisis in the Gaza Strip between Israel and Hamas. While fighting continues, the UN urges that the two clashing governments draft and cease-fire. The UN created a cease-fire agreement, however, Israel ignored it saying it was "unworkable". Hamas said "the U.N. failed to consider the interests of the Palestinian people".
Analysis- I find this conflict to be rather rash and ridiculous because they are both fighting over something that originally belonged to one nation. However, that nation abused its power and forced all Palestinian people into this one tiny strip of land, causing mass rioting. I think both countries are in the wrong in this situation and that fighting should end as soon as possible.
Prediction- I believe that this conflict will continue for an extended amount of time before one of the nations surrenders and agrees to sign a cease-fire agreement.

Summary: This aricle talks about how today, rebels in Congo fought Hutu militiamen in the east, leaving six people dead. The U.N. troops found the bodies of the 6 militiamen after they had fought in the village of Mabenga. Moreover, it is said that the fighting started even though this week, in Nairobi, a truce was called for. Obasanjo met Nkunda in a rebel-held village to set the truce. Additionally, the group of rebels, headed by Bosco Ntaganda, claim they have dismissed Nkunda as rebel chief, but Nkunda denies the claim. "Nkunda, an ethnic Tutsi, says his rebels are fighting to protect Congo's minority Tutsis from the Hutu militia that fled here after helping perpetrate the 1994 genocide that killed more than half a million Tutsis in Rwanda. But his critics contend he is more interested in power and Congo's mineral wealth."
Analysis: I don't understand why they would use excuses to make fighting just. they are saying that the truce wasn't going to be put in effect even if Nkunda would have gone through with it because they had dismissed him as chief. Even so, tht does not justify their actions. also, using something like the 1994 Rwanda genocide as an excuse as well is unfathomable. i think that the only thing that they should take from that genocide is the fact that killing an innocent person is bad no matter the reason.
Prediction: If this problem keeps going on back and forth, the Tutsis get back at the Hutus and then vise-versa, then it is never going to get anywhere. Its just going to continue cycling throughout the generation. They were so close to a truce but no, they had to shatter this possibility with a battle. They can't realize that this is affecting everyone and not just them, so until they do, unfortunately this problem can't be fixed.

Summary:
On this day, 30 poeple had been killed. The Israeli forces shelled a house where they had ordered about 100 Palestinian civilians to take shelter. Rescue teams found 15 wounded people and three corpses in other houses. Witnesses told the UN they had been calling for ambulances to collect the dead and wounded people, but the Israeli army built earthen walls that made ambulance access to the neighborhood impossible.
Analysis:
I think totally disagree with having the walls around that area and that they can't take the corpses and wounded people out. I think that they should take it down because after a while, the bodies will get all nasty and gross.
Prediction:
I think that the Israeli army won't take the walls down anytime soon because they put all that effort in putting it up so they won't bother to take it down.

I would like to congratulate Moria C. on an excellent topic. I do agree that it is idiotic for the International Red Cross to be able help injured people. In wars, not only do soldiers die, but also people from villages are cities. I would also like to add that it is against to kill any medical people during war.
I congratulate Chris H. on a brilliant topic. I also asgree how the outcome will be.

This article is very sad. Africa has had decades of deaths. Africa has been ignored over the years. Africa has been given money and food by donors and is making a comeback. From staving children to the fighting over the years Africa has had billions of aid from generous donors.
I think that this is great people are helping the children in Africa. People are seeing that they need to help out in order to continue the next generation.
I predict that this problem will clear and the hungry children of Africa will survive with no problems.

This article is about the crisis in Israel and Hamas. Israel and Hamas are bombing each other and many people have dies, close to 800. The UN is urging the 2 nations to ceasefire and try to negotiate their problems. One of the representatives from Israel said that they wouldn't stop attacking.
I believe that the 2 nations should try to work out their problems because many innocent people are dying. And also if they talk out their problems they can save money from being spent on fixing damages and buying weapons.
I think this conflict will get worse before better because there is a lot of disagreements and tension between the two areas.

Although the war of Israel and Gaza is only two weeks long, it has already become a major problem for the UN Security Council. The resolution that they have come up with is, according to Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, is “unworkable”. It calls for an immediate ceasefire, which many of the Israeli officials believe is impossible at this time. One reason for the impossibility of the ceasefire is the fact that just today, Friday, the Israeli military sent out 70 air strikes to the Gaza Strip in order to stop Hamas militants because they have been launching rockets into Israel, which was the reason that this war began in the first place. The death toll, though, tells a different story. There have been over 780 Palestinians killed, but there have only been about 15 casualties in Israel. Many of the Palestinians killed were not militants, but innocent, unsuspecting civilians. Egypt also tried to create a ceasefire agreement with Israel, but they had completely different ideas about how their agreement was to be sought out. Because of the massive death and injury toll in Gaza, the UN Relief and Works Agency has been supplying aid to the terror stricken citizens of Gaza, but when one of their drivers was killed, the UNRWA was hesitant in sending help to Gaza. The Israelis, though, assured the UNRWA that they were not the ones that were being targeted, so they plan to continue sending aid to Gaza.
I think that it is sad that people cannot live together in peace. The Israelis must have felt threatened by Hamas, so they decided to attack them. Although they say that the only people they are targeting are militants, most of the casualties are civilians. I think that Gaza and Israel need to work together to figure out their differences, instead of hurting people who have nothing to do with the conflict. Why can’t countries ever settle their differences peacefully?
I think that it will take some time for this conflict to be resolved. Since Gaza and Israel are refusing to agree to the UN resolution, they need more time to peacefully solve their differences. Hopefully, in the mean time, both countries will agree to a ceasefire, so the violence can end immediately. I know that this ceasefire will not bring back the ones that have been lost in this war, but it will make their families feel better, knowing that others will not have to suffer the same pain as they have.

This article is about the Afghans who are fighting against the Israelis in Gaza. They have sided with Palestine and sent more than a thousand men to help the Palestinians. According to Habibullah Assam, the Afghans are helping the Israelis because they believe the Israelis to be brutal and horrible. He also said that several hundred Afghans including doctors and teachers also volunteered to give blood to those in need of it. He is trying to make the Afghans seem like very generous people who help others for no cause. This is a great threat to the Israelis and they must brace themselves for brutal and terrifying war and destruction. Some of the Afghanistan soldiers were trained by the same people who were behind the Mumbai attacks. All of these people are linked somehow and have the same ideals for their actions in war.
I think that this is not a good thing to happen for Israel and the United States of America. Afghanistan has one of the strongest armies in the world. There will be more deaths for both militaries and many innocent people will be killed because of war. This will cause major problems between America and Afghanistan because there are already big problems between them. Things are not going to improve in the middle east at all and more countries are going to start fighting each other because of peacekeeping conflicts. There will be more enimity between each other and hatred will turn into violence.
I predict that the war between Israel an Palestine will not end anytime soon. Also, this is a very religious war and many of the sodiers' feelings are influenced by their religions. These soldiers fight with much force and willpower so it is not likely that they will give up anytime soon. There honor and strength is tested throughout this battle. Afghanistan and the United States will feel more enimity toward each other because of other countries' problems and this will not help with international cooperation. This not good for the treaties that bonds some countries together for economic purposes. Overall, this is a horrible thing to occur for Israel and the United States and it does not seem that things will settle down anytime in the near future.

This article is about the earthquake in Costa Rica that the tolls have risen. The toll rose to 14 when rescue workers found bodies of more than 10 people. The Red Cross has helped more and searching for more victims of Thursday's quake. 4 other deaths were felt as far away as neighboring countries. Authorities and others believe that the toll could rise.
I think this situation is really troubling because earthquake's have always troubled countries and don't help a lot with the economy. It's really devastating to know the toll will increase once more if another earthquake occurs like this.
I predict that they would make more rescue teams to be in caution when something like this occurs in class. Many countries should have a strategy to work on if another trouble comes by.

I agree with you that the fighting between Israel and Hamas is irrational, and theat they are both at fault for starting this brutal war.

I completely agree with your analysis! Those nations are both wrong. The whole cause of this issue is the segregation of two different groups of people. Good thing the United States isn't like that anymore. Your prediction seems right on. Great job! :]
I think the activity over the Gaza strip, the Palestinians, and Israelis has gotten way out of hand. Great job on your current event! :]

Great job! I agree with you that this whole situation with Israel and Palestine is ridiculous and harsh. Although the United Nations has asked both nations to cease fire, it does not see likely that that will happen any time soon. The only thing we can ask of these two nations is to not completely destroy one another. However, that is only something we can hope for since they are both committed to torturing each other for generations. Nice work! :)
Commentation #2 on Noel H.
Great job Noel! I agree with you that there should be more tolerence between India and Pakistan. However, we must understand that these two countries have been enemies for thousands of years. Enimity between each other has been long rooted for generations. Hopefully in the near future, India and Pakistan will have just a little bit more cooperation than they have at the current situation. Awesome work! :)

Comment on Noel H.- It would be great to get full cooperation but things like this are hard to accomplish, especially because certain countries can cooperate with others. Hopefully once this boils over a bit the will start cooperating because unless india and Pakistan get together things won't get done.
Comment on Sravya C.- Unfortunately, everything we do will back fire for the reason that this is a religious war and people cannot go against their God or religion. also, i agree this is going to affect the US a lot because they are already having problem in Afghanistan and if they are supporting Israel then things are going to get worse.

In the following article, Israel Protests Targets US consulate in Pakistan, is about how security forces used tear gas and batons against anti-Israel protestors who tried to attack but not succeed among the U.S. consulate located in Pakistan. The following crisis occurred Sunday. The protest continued throughout Belgian capital which drew 30,000 people to be violent and they all caused damage such as, overturning cars, smashing shop windows, etc. in other regions, such as Manila, Philippines, their policemen used shields to disperse students in protesting among the U.S. Embassy. According to Washington, they provided enough of foreign aid to Israel and military as for weapons assistance. The Israel military acted upon the situation and perceived in the Muslim world as coming off financed that supported by the U.S., even though Pakistan is a U.S. ally. As for Spain they are calling action to a discussion on the situation and come up with solutions. As for Arab citizens, they are deeply concerned rather than bringing security to Israel but in Syria, they disagree with the fact and feel that all they need is peace.
I feel that all conflicts have really taken into affect among the international community. Some countries either agree or disagree. Obviously Spain calls to action in bringing security and Arab citizens do not feel contempt in doing so. I feel that you must look at both sides of the situation and hear what differences they have and try to situate the problem and solve it rather than disagreeing with one another.
I predict that hopefully the conference held in Spain will work out, and all crisis will be taken into action IMMEDIATELY!
Comment on Brent Shenton: I definitely agree with your prediction in saying how the conflict will continue for a while until the nations actually agree of signing the cease-fire agreement.
Comment on Aditi Sharma: I feel the same way in providing more time to peacefully solve their differences. I would like to commend you on your analysis as well. Great Job =]
Comment on Syravia C.: I agree with your prediction is saying how the war between Israel and Palestine will continue because it is a religious war and many of the solders feelings are mostly impacted among their faith. Yes their honor and strength is tested to certain ability and will most likely never give up! Well done =].
Comment on Chris Ho: great analysis because I thought the same about how the Pope is only using knowledge to influence people into doing great things in attempting peace.

9 protestors got arrested after 7 police officers got assualted in a pro-gaza rally.
i think the protestors are a bunch of pussies. all they do is protest for a cause that isnt even in thier country. what are you going to get from protesting. "stop gaza violence!" that wont happen if you protest in USA. do you think Israel will listen if you just say stop fighting? No! protestors need to stop talking and do more action for the cause they are protesting for. also cops need to use force to deal with protestors like they do with hippies.
I think the protest will die out because nothing is happening with protesting. the last sucessful protest that had good results was the civil rights movement. protestors these days have become pussies. nothing will happen and they all go home like they actually did a good cause but soon find out all the protesting was a waste of time.

This article talks about how children and men/women in third world coutries are dying of preventable diseases and of HIV aids. Because of this, new infections of HIV have been discovered. It also tells how 11 million people have dies of this and 8 million people have died of tuberculosis.Children are dying of measels even though vaccine is available, it is stated that more people die of this in third world countries than conflict alone.
I agree and see that people around the world are dying of these deadly diseases. But I also think we should do something about it, like offer more medical availability to those in need in other countries and offer more knowledge on the diseases and sicknesses. Although I am aware of this topic being huge in media I feel we haven't reach a big enough audience because if we did not so many people would have died.
Obviously the effort on this topic to cure aids from my view I feel has not changed much and has not made much movement to solve this problem. Although this is a huge a problem around the world I feel that people aren't driven much by death but more by money and right now I feel their looking for a solution for our economic downfall than aids.

In this article, Birkenau, the largest camp in the Auschwitz complex where 1.1 million people were murdered. Birkenau has now turned into a mseum in ordr to educate people and show hem hoe evil and cruel thenazi's were and to sho the full effect of the holocaust. However, over the years, this museum has ben unning low on omey, and now they are in such a financial crisis that in a few years, this popular museum may have to shut down. "Auschwitz Museum is in a financial crisis, that's for sure," says site spokesman Pawel Sawicki.
"We do not have sufficient money to develop a long-term conservation plan. We can only be reactive, say if there's damage to a building we repair it - we can't be proactive," he says.
In my opinion, if this museum shuts down it would be a horrible thing. there are so many children and even some adults who dont know about the holocaust and don't know that millions of jews were killed by men who were cruel and animals. In my opinion, the museum should do fundraisers in order to gain more money for their survivement.
Before this situatons gets better, its going to get worse, because in order to get mone you need to lose money first. If the museum accepts donations or starts fundraisers, then i think the museum will stay standing for many more decades
